After putting nearly 115 miles in the Hoka One One Clifton 3, i am ready to report back! As many of you might remember, I thuroughly enjoyed the original Clifton. Despite it’s shortcomings, Hoka had released a super lightweight, cushioned racer that went the distance and beyond!
Well, their follow up version, the Clifton 2, did not do me happy and unfortunately, suffered from weight, stiffness and major fit constraint. I am happy to report that the Clifton 3 is back to form with a softer, stretchier upper and soft cushion that harkens back to the original.
Really my only new gripes are with the surprising weight addition (nearly 2.5 oz heavier than version 1!), the welded overlay durability and the looks. Other than that, Hoka once again has a pretty stellar road shoe on their hands here – or I guess, on their feet!
