If you’ve seen my review of the New Balance Zante v1 then you know how much I enjoyed that shoe. The Zante v2 is a VERY similar shoe and gives me just as many warm fuzzies as the first version, which is a good thing.
Really, the only changes are cosmetic with the upper materials and welded overlays becoming a bit more refined and well-designed, though heavier (nearly 1oz weight gain). The outsole has a slightly different tread pattern and the tongue is a bit thicker (while the insole is thinner). Other than that, the shoe remains unchanged in ride quality and sensation.
This thing is a blast for short to mid-distance runs and I’ve been loving it for shorter speed work. If you like a more reduced, responsive yet enjoyable ride, check out the Zante v2. A nice continuation of what was already quite good.
