Nike is back with a new version of a Gearist favorite in the Zoom Terra Kiger 3! The original Terra Kiger was the first Nike trail shoe that was ever on Gearist and while we were definitely skeptical at the time, it was a wonderfully pleasant surprise when we actually started running in it. This time around, we expected goo things and were not disappointed.
The Zoom Terra Kiger 3 brings some solid updates to a shoe that really didn’t change much at all from version one to version two. This time around, the outsole of the Kiger 3 has been redesigned with a beefed up and more durable rubber whose lugs are much more angular, twice as deep and much more ready to stick to some rough trails. The body of the shoe adds an additional ~5mm of forefoot width which increases the stable base and makes for a wider upper with more room for toe wiggle and splay. The upper of this edition is now made entirely from Flymesh with rugged TPU overlays and a heel counter that has much more structure than the floppy rearfoot that appeared in the past.
