It’s not that we’re NOT going to tell you how smooth the ride of the Pearl Izumi EM Trail N3 is – If you’ve seen any of our reviews of any of the E:Motion line models we’ve reviewed before, you likely already know about that part of the story. Today we’re going to be introducing you to a shoe in the E:Motion line that goes down a path which many shoe brands are opening themselves up to these days, at least in one model of shoe and that is the much more maximal EM Trail N3.
Each time we review a shoe that resides somewhere in the vicinity of the maximalist category, we find ourselves surprised at how much we enjoy it. While we may still prefer more ground feel on an individual basis, that doesn’t mean we can’t see what people are looking for when they reach for shoes with that much cushion. As we’ve also said in the past, we think that one run in a shoe from Pearl Izumi’s E:Motion line will quickly reveal why mechanical cushioning is so important so to have both mechanical and material aspects covered in one shoe is certainly something that will have broad appeal. With the EM Trail N3 Pearl Izumi has a shoe that can bring all of these aspects together in a quality shoe that will get people on trails and loving the miles they put on – and, our favorite part – they’ll be able to go into a road shoe from the E:motion line and get that same, super smooth ride.
How much cushion do you like in a trail shoe? Do you aim for more or less ground feel? Tell us in the comments!
